First, the plaintiff says the defendant is her ex-boyfriend and they used to live together. He stalked her and made death threats, but she’s suing for money he still owes her. The defendant says the plaintiff moved out and didn’t pay the last few months of rent, so he’s keeping the security deposit. He’s countersuing for back rent. Then, the plaintiff says the defendant was his friend, but then the defendant broke the handle on the door of his car and refuses to pay. The plaintiff is suing for the damages. The defendant claims all he did was try to open the door, and he didn’t do anything wrong — it’s not like the defendant has superhuman strength.
