About Coach Perry Wilson Coach Perry is a goaltending coach/consultant with the Windsor Spitfires hockey club which plays in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Wilson worked with the LaSalle Vipers from 2008 to 2015 — and was a member of the 2010 Sutherland Cup championship team. He's also spent time with Hockey Canada. In 2008, Perry became a Can-Fit-Pro Certified Trainer and began a private fitness practice in Windsor, Ontario. Lucky for Essex County, Perry is your go-to-guy for personal fitness! For 14 years Perry coached the University of Windsor Womens’ Hockey Team and has converted his skills as a coach to his fitness training and to his partnership with IN THE ZONE GOALIE SCHOOL (getinthezone.ca). About Coach Ian Michaelchuk Coach Michaelchuk is entering his 12th season as an Assistant Coach. Ian played for the Pioneers for 4 years(2003-2007), serving as an alternate captain in 2006-2007 when the program captured its first 25 win season. Ian graduated from WPU in 2007 with a degree in Finance, Management, and a minor in Professional Sales. After graduating, Ian coached the Cherry Hill Middle School program to a 14-6-1 record in 2007-2008. He then decided to join the WPU coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2008-2009. Ian has worked alongside Coach Ballance both on the bench and also focusing on player development since 2009-2010 when WPU won their first SECHL title. Since Ian joined the staff the Pioneers have gone 262-63-9, earning 9 auto-bids to the national tournament ('09,'10,'11,'12,'14,'15,'16,'17,'18) in 10 years, and capturing 6 SECHL Championships ('10,'11,'12,'13,'16,'18). Ian holds a USA Hockey - Level 4 Advanced Coaching Card and currently works as a Sales Manager. He also completed his MBA at William Paterson University. About Coach Mike O'Grady Coach O'Grady began his coaching career in 2011 at John Carroll University where he served as an assistant coach for the ACHA Division I team while studying Exercise Science as an undergraduate.  Upon graduating in 2014, O'Grady took his talents to Mercyhurst University. He served as both a graduate assistant to the Mercyhurst Archaeological Institute and an assistant coach to the Division I women's ice hockey team. After two seasons with Mercyhurst, O'Grady moved onto Division I University of Maine as an assistant coach where he focused on position-specific skill development, defensive management, recruiting, and team travel coordination. O'Grady took his first head coaching job in 2017 with Division III Nichols College. He led the Bison to a program-record 12 wins, as well as their first ever playoff win, in his first year. The following year, O'Grady led the team to an impressive 14-9-3 record. While at Nichols, he coached 16 student-athletes onto the Colonial Hockey Conference Academic team and hopes to continue this tradition of academic excellence at Chatham. About Taylor Wenczkowski University of New Hampshire forward Taylor Wenczkowski of Rochester on Wednesday was selected in the third round of the National Women's Hockey League draft. Wenczkowski recently wrapped up a breakout campaign in which she led UNH in scoring and earned third-team all-conference honors in Hockey East. Wenczkowski, the Wildcats' captain, and McManus were the wingers on UNH’s most proficient scoring line last season, with Wenczkowski tallying seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points, and McManus notching a team-high 27 points (17 goals, 10 assists). Wenczkowski lead the team in goals (20) and points (26). She led the team in shots on goal with 168, was second in shooting percentage and first among players with minimum 20 shots on goal. Wenczkowski led the team in game winning goals and powerplay goals with five in both categories and was in the four-way tie for team lead in game tying goals with one. Those goals alone contributed for 11 of the 23 points the team ended the season with for the conference. It was only one ahead of the UCONN Huskies for the ‘Cats to end sixth in the conference. She also recorded 14 blocked shots on the season.
