Welcome to 2019 Congregation! Thanks for sticking with us all this time. On today's episode, Besh and Jed hash out the finer points of life-- namely Oregon considering legalization of mushrooms and whether or not that means we can now take them (hint: no). We also talk about the resurgence of the R. Kelly controversy and how Besh hated "Bandersnatch" but loved "Bird Box". Ugh. Then on a VERY special interview, Jed talks to Booka Nile- keyboardist/vocalist from the metal band Make Them Suffer. Booka began her career working in the field of mental health; she started with people with disabilities and brain trauma, and moved on to manage a mental health hostel. Booka talks about how she practices self-care, burnout, and how her life changed when she joined a world-famous touring metal band. Mum wasn't thrilled at first. Booka has recently started a mental health vlog, and we highly recommend it. You can also catch her on tour feb/mar with Born of Osiris and Chelsea Grin!
