Jane Madden: Making the move from top diplomat to company executive
She was one of the few people to meet Nelson Mandela on the day of his release from prison and has had breakfast with Vladimir Putin. She was also Australian Ambassador to UNESCO and helped establish Australia's Digital Transformation Office. Meet Jane Madden, Global Chair of the Fred Hollows Foundation, President of the National Foundation for Australian Women, and CEO of Brickfielder Insights.
Speaking from Ngunnawal country in Canberra, Jane shares her approach for living with curiosity and openness, what it takes to adapt from a successful public service career to running her own company, and how standing by her values have helped her make rewarding career choices and create better workplaces.
Jane co-founded Brickfielder Insights, a Canberra-based boutique advisory firm, after an accomplished career as a top diplomat, senior executive, and ministerial adviser. Jane has built her career by prioritising courage, people-centricity and corporate leadership. She now brings her expertise as a Non-Executive Director to a range of boards and advises government and corporate clients on how they can navigate an increasingly complex social, economic, regulatory, and political environment.
