As important as emotional health is, physical health is really necessary as well in order to live holistically.  Natalie shares her journey over the summer that led to 30lbs of weight loss and how the changes she's made have become major staples in her life moving forward. Perhaps it's a first world problem deciding whether or not to send your kids to public or private school given plenty of kiddos in our world won't be going to school anywhere this year. Nevertheless, we're thankful that we get to make this decision and certainly recognize it as a gift. Listen in as Chris and Natalie tell the story of their journey on arriving to the decisions they've made regarding where their four boys have gone to school and the pros and cons to these decisions.

Growth may seem automatic when you look at a human child growing into an adult body, but even at that, the conditions have to be right for say healthy bone growth. Sleep, food and proper shelter have to be in place to stay alive and have the opportunity for our bodies to develop. Similarly, we need to have adequate conditions to grow relationally and emotionally and it's up to us to be intentional towards living in those environments. Rehearsing the brokenness of our past, abuse, abandonment, you name it, only imprisons us in a jail cell of our own doing. Instead, playing the picture of our future and who God says we are, despite the crimes committed against us, is where walking free begins. Our world is full labels, and in a lot of cases, it's a good thing. We need labels to accurately describe certain elements of life. However, when we stick labels on ourselves, or wear labels from others that are different than the ones the God who created us says about us, we end up frustrated and empty. What labels are you wearing and who have you let define you?

Could it be possible that we're going around life with a secret addiction that even we ourselves don't know we have? The addictive behavior of "punishing" may be thriving inside of us because it's what we've observed all our lives. The need to get even, give payback or show someone who's boss can show up when we least expect it, or maybe that's the problem - it's so expected that we're desensitized to it.
