S2 E9: Warning Signs of Burnout, Depression and Other Stuff with Special Guest: Samantha Allen
It's MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH! In this latest episode of Black Coffee with a Side of Candor, we're talking about some of the mental health challenges that busy women, particularly black women, may face. We start with BURNOUT, its meaning, and the signs associated with it. Then we move on to DEPRESSION, shedding light on its lesser-known signs. And we continue with mental health challenges that are more commonly observed among busy women, particularly black women. While mental health challenges can affect anyone, black women often face unique stressors such as systemic racism and microaggressions that lead to conditions like anxiety disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Finally, we present three best practices or tips for addressing burnout and depression: 1 - PRIORITIZE SELF-CARE 2 - SET BOUNDARIES 3 - SEEK SUPPORT Remember, taking care of your mental health is essential, and seeking professional help is always encouraged. By recognizing the signs, implementing self-care strategies, setting boundaries, and seeking support, you can navigate burnout and depression more effectively.
