US Navy Veteran Jenna Carlton joined us this week. Jenna walked us through her time growing up in Wisconsin to why she decided to join the Navy. We learned about how she went from a very small town to being deployed on to an aircraft carrier. Jenna shared a little about life on an aircraft carrier and some of the ports they visited while deployed. Spoke about her decision to leave the Navy and now go to school. This is where she thought she thought she wanted to be in politics, but learned, that wasn't going to be the life for her. This is where she reconnected with serving and specifically serving her fellow veterans. At this time, some friends and her created The Millennial Veteran Facebook Group. A group where veterans could have a safe space to talk with other veterans and even find help. Jenna also launched her Podcast Vet Chats, where she has other veterans on to share their stories. Last, we learned how her book "The Veteran Workbook" came to be. This book as been used on our show with some other veterans and is a great resource to reflect on their previous service and keep them grounded.
