Romans 2:24 (CWSB)
24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

• Blasphemy: To hurt the reputation or smite with reports or words, speak evil of, slander.
• Matthew 23:15 hurt the reputation

15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Romans 2:25-27 (CWSB)

25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.

26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?

27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfill the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?

10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and -- you and -- thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

• Romans 2:25 (NICNT Ro Murray): Circumcision was the sign and seal of the covenant dispensed to Abraham which was a covenant of promise and of grace. Hence it had relevance only in the context of grace and not at all in the context of law and works in opposition to grace.
• Abrahamic covenant — The covenant God made with Abraham, in which he promised to give Abraham the land of Canaan and nations of descendants. God also promised that Abraham’s descendants would bless the world (Gen 12:1–5; 17:19).
• Genesis 12:1-2 (CWSB) 1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
• Philippians 3:3 it’s about the spirit
• 3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Romans 2:28-29 (CWSB)

28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
